The French organization Gentle Mates has officially announced its withdrawal from the CS division and will no longer support its Spanish roster.
After being acquired by this French club in 2025, Gentle Mates' Spanish roster fought hard for a spot at the IEM Cologne Major, battling in the tier-2 scene and even holding a solid position in the VRS rankings early in the season, but following a period of inactivity and subsequent poor results in crucial tournaments on the path to the Major, they ultimately fell short.
During their time with M8s, the team won the IstanbuLAN championship and finished as runners-up in the Radio Popular Roman Imperium Cup II, Roman Imperium Cup V, and LORGAR RANKINGS Season 1. They also reached the top four at the Perfect World CS Challenge Series 2, StarLadder StarSeries Fall, and Roman Imperium Cup III.
However, on bigger stages, they consistently failed to regain their form, failing to advance past the group stage in every major tournament they entered: PGL Astana, IEM Rio, ESL Pro League, and PGL Bucharest.
Following MartinezSa's move to HEROIC during the off-season, these former Gentle Mates players are currently competing with CRUC1AL as a substitute, with djL providing coaching support. Their former captain, deLonge, recently announced that he has become a free agent.
Today, they have returned under the Iberian Soul banner and are competing in the LAN open qualifiers for a spot in the Esports World Cup.
Iberian Soul's current roster is as follows:
