Legacy defeated NAVI in the round of 16 at EWC and will face Falcons in the quarterfinals. In an interview with Dust2 Brasil, latto mentioned that he didn't expect the match against NAVI to be "so easy," and despite respecting Falcons, Legacy will approach the next game without fear.
"We've always had confidence playing against them (NAVI), as we've beaten them several times before. But of course, we didn't expect it to unfold like this. We turned the games around beautifully on two maps. I think we lost a bit of focus on Inferno, but we still pulled it through in the end. On Ancient, I didn't expect it to be such an easy map for us."
Now, Legacy will face Falcons in the quarterfinals. The two teams last met at the CAC Grand Finals in May, where Legacy defeated their opponents 3-1. Latto stated that although he greatly respects the reigning Major champions, Legacy is not afraid of Falcons.
"I believe this will be just like when we faced them at the CAC. We certainly have a great respect for their team; they are outstanding. But just like then, we've already beaten them once before, and we are bringing the same mindset we had against NAVI—we are fearless, and we are going to fight for the win."
latto also talked about Legacy's new sniper try. The two players had previously played together at 00Nation and now reunite at Legacy.
"His return has been fantastic. I've always liked him as a person and as a player. I believe that after all this time, he has matured a lot, and so have we. It's been a really great and very different experience. I've truly enjoyed it. The team is gelling, and it feels really good."
Finally, latto talked about how it felt for him and the other players when n1ssim announced that he would be returning to the team about a month after being moved to the bench.
"After the Major concluded, we received the news that n1ssim would be moving to the substitute bench. We began exploring other options, and suddenly the team owner came to us, presenting the possibility of bringing n1ssim back and asking if we would accept. We said of course we would. We've always loved his playstyle. He plays exceptionally well and played a huge role today. I believe this was an incredibly easy decision for our team to make. We thought he wouldn't stay, but when there was a chance to bring him back, everyone was thrilled and thoroughly enjoyed his return."
