As the 9th anniversary of CS in China approaches, Perfect World Esports brings blockbuster news to CS players worldwide: Valve's highest-level official CS tournament — the Winter Major 2027 will be hosted by Perfect World Esports and return to Shanghai, China once again! From November to December 2027, the world's top CS teams will gather once again on the banks of the Huangpu River to compete for the highest honor in CS.
The 2024 Counter-Strike World Championship hosted by Perfect World Esports two years ago was the first CS Major ever held in Asia. In this Major, Perfect World Esports opened all matches from every stage to live audiences, a first in CS Major history. Fans were able to watch matches from all stages in person at the Major, while teams in each stage could feel the cheers and support of the live crowd.
At the 2024 Counter-Strike World Championship, Chinese fans witnessed live the advent of a prodigy — donk's hands-in-pockets, unrivaled run to the title, and saw Big Cousin karrigan shed tears on stage after finishing as runner-up. Watching a hall-of-fame-level CS event in person at the Major arena, tens of thousands of Chinese fans fulfilled their dreams in Shanghai — each of them is (or once was) a dream-chasing, never-give-up CS kid. This Major brought Chinese fans up close to the Major, while also letting the world get to know China better.
Since hosting CAC 2018, Perfect World Esports has been committed to creating high-level international CS events and promoting the professional development of CS in China and across Asia. Having hosted the international CAC series in Shanghai in 2018, 2019, 2023, 2025, and 2026, and its first Major in 2024, it has accumulated extensive experience in producing top-tier tournaments, making Shanghai an iconic city for major CS events in China.
In the long history of CS Majors, Cologne, Germany has hosted the Major four times, and Katowice, Poland has hosted it three times. These two cities have now become esports holy lands in the hearts of Western CS players. Shanghai, China, will welcome its second Major in 2027, and it is hoped that in the future Shanghai will also rise to become an esports holy land in the hearts of Eastern CS players.
The Major's return to Shanghai, China would not have been possible without the strong support of Shanghai's government departments at all levels, and even more so without the support of every Chinese CS player. It is your cheers and your presence, time and time again, that have shown the world the boundless energy of CNCS.
On the 10th anniversary of CS in China (2027), Chinese players can once again experience the endless charm of the CS Major in Shanghai. Shining stars will showcase ultimate gunplay, and the electrifying arena will deliver a top-tier feast.
2027 Counter-Strike World Championship, we look forward to seeing you!
