m0NESY gave an exclusive interview to Esports.ru: on the big win over MongolZ, the playoff draw, and the most important decision of his career.
Q: Let's talk about the match against The MongolZ, it looked like a very easy win for you from the outside. How did you feel about this match?
m0NESY: I'm really glad we were able to compete together this way, so confident and so in sync. The online loss to 100T earlier really woke us up. Before EWC we did a lot of training and preparation, and I think that helped everyone's form a lot, both individually and as a team. Since arriving here, we've stayed confident.
Back to the match itself, Kyosuke basically tore through them single-handedly, and everyone else delivered as well. On the second map, we just followed our pre-match plan and played step by step.
Q: This knockout draw has once again sparked discussion about imbalance. What do you think?
m0NESY: We don't really think about that. We've of course seen the draw results, and it's a bit like that Cologne Major — Vitality and Spirit are in the same bottom half of the bracket as us, with FURIA in the top half. We just focus on playing our own game and don't think too much about the rest.
Q: The day before yesterday NiKo said that "kicking" karrigan back then was the biggest regret of his career. Is there a decision that you've always felt fortunate about and never regretted?
m0NESY: I have never regretted choosing to join G2. When I was in NAVI Junior, other teams had actually invited me as well, but I ultimately accepted G2's offer. Other clubs approached me too, but I have never regretted choosing G2.
