CS Skin Showcase: Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol

Welcome to the Skin Showcase. Today we're featuring the red Covert-tier skin "Ghost Protocol" from the Covert Collection. This skin also boasts a striking red color scheme, with a dazzling appearance that can only be described as a ruby. (My Red Apple isn't half bad either!)

The creator of this skin is veteran skin artist Graff, known for works such as Bunker, AWP | Tree Viper, MP9 | Tarred, and various charms. Having secured multiple prototype keys, this skin, which utilizes new technology, was accepted by Valve and added to the game. (Although the author did not include the "Spy Tech" category tag, this skin was still accepted by Valve and added to The Spy Collection.)

This skin was originally named Ghost Protocol, translated as "Ghost Protocol" in the Chinese server. Next, let's explore the highlights of this skin together.

"Ghost" and "Protocol" — this skin seamlessly blends a futuristic tech aesthetic with a bold red color scheme, where the bright red visuals deliver a striking, eye-catching impact. The "Ghost Protocol" concept is cleverly embodied in the skin's details: the slide features a striking translucent red polymer, creating a "ghostly" see-through effect. It gives the impression of a transparent weapon, allowing a glimpse into its internal mechanisms, yet deliberately avoids full realism to add a touch of mystery.

The weapon body features intricate red circuit textures resembling traces on a printed circuit board. This circuitry design indicates that the skin serves as the "execution terminal" for an advanced protocol or digital program.

The primary color scheme of this skin is built around a highly aggressive bright red, making the overall palette incredibly striking while exuding an aura of both vitality and extreme danger. Through clever material design, the creator skillfully employs two distinct red textures to enhance the sense of depth. The slide and sections of the frame feature a high-gloss, translucent dark red that creates a transparent, glass-like effect, while practical components like the grip and magazine baseplate are finished in an opaque, matte bright red. This sharp visual contrast between glossy and matte surfaces significantly enhances the weapon's three-dimensional appearance. A few select parts, such as the trigger, retain their black finish, serving as subtle accents that provide visual balance.

A distinctive signature design element—the glowing circuit texture. The red illuminated circuit pattern spanning the entire weapon body is the most eye-catching feature of this skin. These circuit lines run from the muzzle all the way to the stock, intricate yet orderly. Enhanced with an iridescent effect by the creator, the patterns shift colors depending on the viewing angle, shimmering brilliantly under light and embodying the skin's dynamic aesthetic and technological sophistication.

Custom Typography — The grip features a modern, clean sans-serif font displaying "GHOST" and "PROTOCOL". Among them, the vertically aligned dotted "GHOST" text stands out prominently. It directly showcases the skin's name while seamlessly integrating into the weapon's design, reinforcing its unique identity.

Overall, the design language of "Ghost Protocol" is exceptionally clear and highly refined. By boldly fusing the three core elements of "translucency," "circuit boards," and "vibrant red," it creates a futuristic tech aesthetic, making it feel more like a technological artifact endowed with a "soul."

This skin features a custom paint job extension, with iridescent effects applied to the circuit board traces that shift colors and shimmer as the viewing angle changes. The skin has a locked wear range of 0 to 0.9 and introduces a new effect where higher wear results in more saturated color shifts.

As wear increases, the higher the skin's wear level, the more pronounced the iridescent colors become and the more saturated the color-shifting effect. The image shows a color comparison between a Factory New skin and a skin at 0.90 maximum wear from the same angle.

?? Hey, besides this slightly understated design, the creator has also made several other Ghost Protocol variants with different color schemes and themes:
