In an interview with OFFSTAGE, esports player Alkaren discussed the reasons for his departure from the Green Dragons Academy and his loan move to CYBERSHOKE, while also reflecting on the differences between communicating in Russian and English.
Regarding the transfer from Team Spirit Academy to HEROIC
The former Spirit academy that won the CIS regional championship
Alkaren: I just wanted to test myself on the main stage and see what I could achieve there. At the time, I felt that the Green Dragon youth academy had hit its ceiling after kyousuke left. We had already surpassed the level of a youth academy team. Yet, despite being strong players, none of us were able to compete in the main league.
About Loan & Partnership with CYBERSHOKE
Alkaren: I probably miss the feeling of competing in a team more, since I've been grinding the FACEIT ladder for six months. For example, I just grew tired of that situation. I want to play team CS, matches where we can actually communicate and coordinate. I feel that if I join CYBERSHOKE, I'll be able to achieve a higher Rating than when I was playing Tier 3 matches with the Green Dragon Academy. I was accepted into the team very easily.
Differences in Communication Between Russian and English
Alkaren: I feel more comfortable playing in Russian-speaking teams. Sometimes at HEROIC, I knew what to do but couldn't get the information across. As a result, no matter how fitting those plans were at the time, they ultimately fell through. My English is at an intermediate level, around B1-B2. When communicating in English within a team, a callout is only given roughly, whereas in CIS teams, the information is much more detailed.
Previously, CYBERSHOKE Esports announced the loan of Alkaren from Team Spirit. Over the course of a month, the 19-year-old sniper competed in three tournaments with the team, posting an average Rating of 1.17. The team's next event is CCT Europe 2026 Series #6.
