Sashi Mutually Part Ways with MistR, Signs Australian Player chelleos, Transitions to Asian Team

Sashi had previously benched MistR in an attempt to move to the Asian VRS region. MistR announced that he and Sashi have mutually agreed to terminate his contract. The Dane said the move will allow him to "step away from this crazy situation and focus on what's next." The "crazy situation" MistR referred to is the recent region-switch controversy involving Sashi. At the time, Sashi benched both MistR and Cabbi in favor of signing the Australian duo TjP and Hatz.

Sashi signed the aforementioned Australian players to short-term contracts in order to move the team to the Asian VRS region, giving them a better chance to qualify for the PGL Singapore Major later this year. Sashi's blatant move led Valve to amend the Major supplemental rulebook just one day later, blocking the region switch and stripping Sashi of Major eligibility. "Thank you Sashi, especially my coach and teammates," MistR wrote in a post on X. "The past few days have been tough, and it's been painful to see what has happened on X. I'm glad Sashi and I mutually agreed to terminate the contract, allowing me to step away from this crazy situation and focus on what's next." According to Turkish Twitter user Arhaval, MistR will join BBL. BBL entered CS in August by signing the Echo roster.

This Danish organization is doubling down on its pivot away from Europe, as Sashi has announced the signing of chelleos, bringing in the New Zealander from Rooster to replace acoR. This news comes after the region-switch controversy, and with the latest signing, Sashi appears to be doubling down on a roster capable of qualifying for the Major through the Asian VRS, adding another Oceanic player to bring its core up to the Asian VRS majority requirement, regardless of Anlelele's identity status.

Following the rulebook change aimed at preventing short-term region switches, Valve told HLTV that teams attempting to switch regions ahead of the Singapore Major will be disqualified from the Major unless "they reach out proactively and find a solution". With one more player added, giving them a new VRS core, Sashi could attempt to start from scratch in the Asian VRS. chelleos has played for Rooster for the past four years, competing mainly in regional events with an average Rating of 1.15. The 26-year-old has some international experience, having played in multiple ESL Pro League seasons and ESL Challenger events in 2023 and 2024.

Currently, Sashi has replaced too many players, resulting in the loss of all points and having to start from scratch. It has now assembled three Australians and one Vietnamese, swiftly transitioning from Europe to Asia.
