FL4MUS: A Weight Off My Shoulders, Returning to GL Finally Feels Like Playing Team CS

GamerLegion made an excellent start at the EWC Esports World Cup, crushing Luminosity 13-3. This marks GamerLegion's first victory since FL4MUS returned to the team following their elimination in the Round of 32 at the BLAST Bounty.

The 21-year-old player previously played for GamerLegion in 2024. After a disappointing stint at Virtus.pro, he is looking to turn over a new leaf. He spent only 11 months at VP before being benched, and was subsequently loaned to OG and then BetBoom.

FL4MUS: "I feel much more relieved. This might be the first time I've felt like I'm finally back with the team and can finally play CS. It's not like before, where I knew I might not be on this team in a few months. Coming here, I just know... maybe if I play like a BOT, I'll still get benched (laughs), but I hope I won't play like a BOT."

"Everything is fine, very calm. It's calm now. We're just training hard and slowly getting better. I hope we can become a better team."

When asked about the goal for this tournament, FL4MUS stated that he hopes the team can advance to the knockout stage and break into the top 16. With continued effort, he expects the team's ranking to improve significantly.

FL4MUS: "If we can continue to work hard like this, maybe making it into the top 10 or 12 is possible. That's about it."

Q: You won your first match at the Esports World Cup 13-3. I would say that match was quite easy.

FL4MUS: "Yes. I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention to the score, I was more focused on the game itself. The match went smoothly, and it felt really good."

Q: I'd like to ask you about your return to GamerLegion. This happened quite late in the offseason, with the official announcement coming in mid-July. How did this offer come about? Were you worried about spending more time on the bench and missing the start of the season?

FL4MUS: "I expected to find a team because, besides GamerLegion, there were other offers. It wasn't that three offers came to me at the same time, but rather one after another. For example, the first team didn't work out, the second one didn't either, and then GamerLegion came along and we made a deal. Coach imd contacted me, and we hopped on TeamSpeak to chat. He just asked if I was interested, and I said, 'Of course.'"

Q: The past 18 months have been tough for you, I imagine. You didn't play your best CS at VP, then you were benched, and went on loan to a few teams, which came with a lot of uncertainty. Now that you've finally found some stability, especially at a club you've played for before, how does it feel?

FL4MUS: "I feel much more relieved. This might be the first time I've felt like I'm finally back with the team and finally able to play CS. It's not like before, where I knew I might not be on this team in a few months. Coming here, I just know... maybe if I play like a robot, I'll still get benched (laughs), but I hope I won't play like a robot. Everything is good, very calm. It's calm now. We're just training hard, slowly getting better. I hope we can become a better team."

Q: Although you previously played for GamerLegion, this is essentially a brand-new roster. Compared to the previous lineup, there are three different players and a different coach, right? Only Tauson remains from your previous team. What were your first impressions of everyone?

FL4MUS: "Before Snax joined G2, I played alongside him at GamerLegion, so I'm quite familiar with him. REZ is also a legend in the CS scene, and hypex is an excellent and hardworking player. He has very strong individual skills and is open to feedback. This is a good team. If we maintain good discipline, train hard, and trust each other more, I believe this team can reach the top level."

FL4MUS: "Our goal is to not play too poorly. But personally, I hope we make the playoffs and don't lose in the first round."

Q: This is the second tournament you've participated in with the team, and also your first LAN event since the BLAST Bounty tournament. With that in mind, what goals has the team set for the Esports World Cup, one of the biggest tournaments?

FL4MUS: "No goals at all. We're just here to play. Before BLAST, we just practiced, practiced, practiced. Then we had a bootcamp before this event. I remember on the last day of the bootcamp we were already really tired. Then, due to travel, we had 2 days off. Now, maybe each player has their own personal goals, but I don't think the team has any clear objectives... Our goal is just not to play too poorly. Personally, though, I hope we make it to the playoffs and don't lose in the first round. But we'll see."

Q: The team is still in the early stages, but where do you see the team standing for the rest of the season? How far do you think you can go?

FL4MUS: "I don't know. If we can keep working hard like we are now, maybe reaching the top 10 or top 12 is possible. That's about it."
