Ahead of Fission Universe S3, PARIVISION player FL1T spoke with HLTV about reuniting with Jame and dastan, and his new responsibilities in a young lineup.
In FL1T's view, today's Jame is still evolving compared to his Virtus.pro days. Leading more young players has also made his calling style more proactive, with his ideas more mature and refined than before.
Q: You're playing alongside Jame again. Compared to when you played together at Virtus.pro, how is his calling different now?
FL1T: There is definitely a difference, because the game's version and meta are constantly changing. There are some really interesting new ideas and strategies now.
He is still growing as a conductor and as a leader, and now has new young players around him.
You can feel that he seems to have been revitalized. In some ways, he is now more proactive in managing and mentoring these young players. His thinking is even more mature than before, and more thoughtful.
Q: How does your role at PARIVISION differ from your time at Virtus.pro?
FL1T: The difference is that we now have three young players, plus me, Jame and dastan.
In a sense, I may not focus only on myself like I used to. I need to put more attention on the whole team, helping the team and helping these young players.
However, in terms of my specific position and responsibilities in the game, basically nothing has changed. I still need to get kills, help the younger players, and assist with some calling and decision-making in the mid-round and late-round phases.
Q: You spent some time on the bench before. Is it difficult to get back into official matches?
FL1T: Honestly, it probably wasn't that difficult, because I had maintained my game shape during that time.
The really difficult part is communication, and understanding the gameplay of the current round version.
After not playing in official matches for a while, you become a bit disconnected from the current meta. You don't know as clearly as you used to how every round should be played and what the details are, so there were indeed some issues in that regard.
But overall, in terms of how it actually feels, coming back is actually quite comfortable.
Q: That time on the bench also gave you an opportunity to rethink yourself. Have you made any adjustments to your playstyle as a result?
FL1T: Of course. Actually, that period was very valuable to me.
I have thought about many things and reached quite a few new conclusions. As for how effective they will be in the future, we'll have to wait and see.
