The EWC knockout stage is set for a marquee matchup as Spirit faces Vitality. Ahead of the game, Spirit player tN1R spoke in an interview about the anticipation and significance of this clash.
tN1R stated in the interview, "Our goal has always been unchanged, which is to win everything. Against Vitality, I believe as long as we play our own game, we can take the match."
When asked about what preparations are needed against Vitality, he admitted: "They are an experienced top-tier team with outstanding individual skills, but the most important thing is whether we can stay calm at critical moments and avoid issues like slow starts or poor communication."
"Our greatest opponent is not Vitality, but ourselves."
Q: Your group stage matches weren't easy, but your form today looks much better than before. Have you gradually regained your confidence through each match?
tN1R: Yes, we're slowly getting into the rhythm.
Q：Our next match is against Vitality—could this be the most critical battle of the tournament?
tN1R: I think this match is quite interesting because we haven't played against them for a long time. Our previous encounters were during the "Vitality dynasty" era, and each time the games were very close, which was also quite frustrating. So, this will be a crucial match for us and, in a way, could be a turning point.
Q: Where does the biggest challenge come from for you at this stage?
tN1R: Ourselves. I've always answered like this.
Q: You and your teammates have been asked about the most exciting highlight of your career. On the flip side, is there a particular round or moment you'd like to redo?
tN1R: To be honest, there have been quite a few such rounds in my career, but none that stand out particularly. If I had to pick one example, I would choose a clutch situation on Mirage at the Budapest Major 2025—I remember it was a 1v3 that I lost to ropz. Let's go with that.
