Little Red Riding Hood is arguably one of the most well-known fairy tale characters. Valve's call this time evoked the author's childhood memories. According to the author, he recalled the cartoons he watched as a child and felt that a simple story could leave a deeper impression than anything we see today, so he chose Little Red Riding Hood as the protagonist of the skin. He felt it was the first story that came to his mind and that it felt "just right."
He spent several days hand-drawing the composition, carefully refining the colors, shapes, curves, and various details. His goal was to make the entire work feel like a "story frozen in time," a story that belongs to the past yet still stays with us.
The author chooses to embrace the vitality of "imperfection." In his treatment of lines and details, he deliberately did not pursue flawless or rigidly polished refinement. Instead, he preserved a sense of chaos, unevenness, and freedom in his brushstrokes. He hopes these "imperfect" dynamic lines will come together to create a vivid, lifelike visual effect. For him, this is not just an in-game skin, but a small attempt to briefly bring back that childhood feeling that once seemed so simple and genuine.
This skin overall adopts Little Red Riding Hood's "red" theme, with black and gold as the main colors. Everyone is familiar with the story of Little Red Riding Hood, whose two most important characters are Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. The author condenses the story of "Little Red Riding Hood" and the "Big Bad Wolf" onto the gun body, depicting Little Red Riding Hood's serene face on the pistol grip, wearing her iconic red cloak, as if praying or meditating.
The cloak flows like water along the gun body toward the muzzle, transforming into the form of the Big Bad Wolf at the front of the slide, with the Red Wolf's gaze sharp. Only when both characters are present does the story become complete. This design seamlessly connects the two core characters, symbolizing their fatefully inseparable bond in the story.
Red represents Little Red Riding Hood's cloak and roses, black forms the tranquil night-sky background, while ornate golden lines outline all the motifs. The artist also painted detailed normal textures for the skin lines, lending the entire weapon a rich vintage and luxurious feel.
