Team Liquid coach flashie: If we win at BLAST, we'll keep playing; if we lose, we'll catch a flight to a minor tournament.

After the LAN stage of the BLAST Bounty tournament clashed with the Stake "niche treasure tournament" that Liquid had registered for, Team Liquid's head coach flashie updated his social media to explain the team's upcoming tournament plans to the community.

flashie: We were aware of the potential scheduling conflict between these two events, but participating in the BLAST Bounty tournament is our only chance to try and secure invitations based on the August 3rd rankings. (Editor's note: The Valve rankings will be updated on August 3rd, and tournaments such as EPL S24 and IEM Beijing will issue invitations based on these rankings.)

We will most likely face the #1 or #2 seed in the BLAST Bounty tournament, meaning our match should be scheduled for July 30th.

\\\\n

If we win the quarterfinals, we will withdraw from the Stake tournament. This will cost us some points, but it will only affect the September rankings, since the tournament concludes after the invitation list is released (August 3rd). Furthermore, there are no major tournaments in September that issue invitations.

\\\\n

At the same time, we will also earn points for winning the quarterfinals themselves.

\\\\n

If we fail to win the quarterfinals, we will fly to Stockholm the following day to prepare for the Stake tournament on August 1st.
