enkay J: broky's inconsistency hurts the team; JBOEN's future remains unknown
While guesting on the Half Time with K Bizzy podcast, the current FaZe head coach discussed the reasons behind deciding to bench broky, the process of ultimately choosing to loan JBOEN, and JBOEN's future with FaZe.

Q: How was JBOEN's contract signing facilitated? Is it possible we might see him officially join FaZe in 2027?

enKay J:After wrapping up Stake Ranked 2 in Barcelona, it became clear we needed to make a change in the sniper position. Honestly, it was an incredibly tough decision. You almost naturally associate FaZe with broky—seeing his name instantly brings FaZe to mind. Considering his history with the team and everything he's accomplished there, this was definitely not an easy choice.

But to be honest, he lacks stability, which has caused a lot of chaos for us within the server. Due to this instability, it has become difficult for us to build around him. If he could consistently deliver that peak-level broky-style performance every day, then perhaps these issues could be overlooked.

So eventually we realized we needed to replace the sniper. After that, we started looking into the market. Actually, when I first joined FaZe, I had already prepared a list of potential sniper candidates, but at that time it wasn't the right moment to make any adjustments.

Then we entered the off-season. You know, we didn't participate in the Cologne Major, so our off-season actually began in early June. Even during the vacation period, I kept meeting with team manager Eddie and communicating with various sniper candidates, conducting interviews. Eventually, we narrowed it down to two candidates.

During the off-season, FaZe was once rumored to be signing JBOEN/MartineZsa

enKay J:Our progress with JBOEN actually moved very quickly, because negotiations with another sniper didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped. Later, we realized time was running out and we had to push forward immediately, so we ultimately decided to make the choice and sign JBOEN.

As for whether he will become a long-term solution, I certainly hope so. But I can't reveal anything because I'm not involved in contract negotiations; I need to focus on my own work. So regarding whether he will be formally signed in the future, I truly cannot provide an answer at this time.
