After beating MOUZ in the BLAST Open Porto final to win the title, zont1x spoke on the analyst desk about the opponents' performance, his career goals, and his secondary calling role within Spirit.
Speaking about MOUZ in the final, zont1x said bluntly: "In my opinion, it was like they never even connected to the server today. Back at the Bounty tournament, it was us who had no energy at all, and we played terribly in that match."
Q: What is your career goal?
zont1x: I'd say it's the ropz style. You can have a huge impact on matches, but unless you win everything two years in a row, no one will talk about you at all.
With my understanding of the game and my style of play, I could never become world No. 1, world top five, or even break into the Top 20.
But I think even if my individual mechanics aren't the very best, I can still make an impact for the team in other ways. I just want to win as many games as possible.
Q: Are you the deputy commander of the team now?
zont1x: Yes, I'm the second caller. I think that should be pretty obvious to anyone who's listened to even one of our match comms.
I have never taken on as much conducting work as I do now, I am now a very important second voice in the team.
This team now operates differently than it did a year ago when chopper was still here, and before that there was S0tF1k.
Nowadays everyone can contribute their own ideas to the game plan, and the same goes during the game. Everyone can add their own touch and do things their own way.
