Tauson Hospitalized: I Have Reactive Arthritis

Earlier this Tuesday, GamerLegion announced that, due to health issues affecting Tauson, the team will field Maden in his place for the upcoming IEM Beijing qualifiers.

Currently, the 21-year-old Danish player is unable to even run normally. In an interview with Dust2.dk, Tauson also chose to disclose his specific condition: he has reactive arthritis.

Tauson: I have now been at Holbæk Hospital for 4-5 days because I have a condition called reactive arthritis. At first the symptoms appeared in my knee, but later it spread to my left hand, which is why I am unable to play matches right now.

Tauson has been hospitalized for several days but is expected to be discharged later today. According to doctors, his arthritis symptoms may take another 1 to 3 weeks to fully subside.

Tauson: It's actually a bit hard to say right now, but I hope I can be discharged today. The doctor told me that a full recovery may take 1 to 3 weeks. So for now I can only keep monitoring it and hope it goes away as soon as possible so I can be ready to compete again.

Q: How did it feel to suddenly learn that you had an illness that would prevent you from competing?

Tauson: Of course it's very annoying. We're right in the middle of the season, and there are three more events coming up that are very important for Major qualification, and the Major is coming up soon, so the timing really couldn't be worse.

But for now I can only take it one day at a time, and try to recover as soon as possible.

In one week, Fission Universe 3 will be held in China, and Tauson still hopes to recover in time to compete with the team.

Tauson: The current plan is still for me to play at FISSURE Playground, so I'm just trying to get my body recovered.

Tauson has been playing for GamerLegion since September 2024 and has attended three Majors with the team so far.
