We keep this simple, and we are deliberately specific. SeekSkins uses:

• No third-party cookies — we do not embed advertising networks, social plug-ins or third-party trackers that place cookies on your device

Because the only cookie we set is strictly necessary to operate the account features you have asked for, our website does not display a cookie consent banner. We do not track you across other websites.

The Cookie We Use

skinwiki_session — Essential

This is the only cookie we set. It keeps you logged in after you authenticate with Steam, so that account-based features such as collections, price alerts, purchase requests, linked inventory accounts, portfolio valuation and your plan status are available to you across page loads.

• Contents: a digitally signed authentication token identifying your account and the time the session was issued and expires. It is signed with a server-side secret; it is not encrypted, and it does not contain your password or your payment details.
• Set by: SeekSkins (first-party), on successful Steam login
• Lifetime: 30 days from login, or until you log out
• Attributes: HTTP-only (cannot be read by page scripts), Secure (sent only over HTTPS), SameSite=Lax
• Removed: when you log out, or when it expires

If you block or delete this cookie, you can still browse the public parts of the site, but you will not be able to stay logged in and account features will not be available.

Local Storage and Similar Technologies

Our website does not use browser local storage or session storage to track or profile you. Your interface language is carried in the page address rather than stored on your device, and we do not use web beacons, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting scripts or advertising identifiers.

We do maintain a server-side, pseudonymous guest usage counter that is derived from a one-way hash of your IP address and browser user-agent, so that we can apply the free usage allowance for visitors who are not logged in. This counter is not stored on your device and is described in our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Cookies

We do not permit third parties to set advertising or analytics cookies through our website, and we do not use services such as Google Analytics.

Our website is delivered through a content delivery and network security provider, which processes requests on our behalf. That provider may in principle set a strictly necessary security cookie for the purpose of protecting the site against automated attacks. We do not use such cookies for analytics, advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking, and we do not share cookie data with advertising partners.

If you choose to sign in with Steam, or you connect Discord or Telegram to receive notifications, those services operate under their own cookie and privacy policies once you are on their domains. We do not control those cookies.

Please note that if you block or delete our session cookie, you will be logged out and will need to sign in with Steam again before using account features. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to browse public price information, charts, market pages and editorial content.

We will update this Cookie Policy if the cookies we use change — for example, if we ever introduce a measurement or advertising technology, in which case we will say so here and, where required, ask for your consent before setting it. Updates are posted on this page with a new revision date.
