1win captain nafany explained why the team failed to qualify for the CS2 Esports World Cup 2026. In his view, this roster lacks teamwork.
nafany: We had a tough match and really had a chance to take Ancient. Maybe then we could have kept battling on Dust2. Sigh, it's still too early. Yes, building a team from scratch is always difficult, so it's only natural that we'd face these challenges. By the way, the match against Acend was absolutely insane: for half the game we could barely hear anything because a bunch of people behind us were playing PUBG (I think). And the atmosphere there was clearly more electric than at the Rio Major or Cologne Major. Those fans were drumming and blowing horns for a solid five hours, louder than your neighbors during a home renovation. If you watch the replay, you'll notice that for half the match, neither we nor they really held shift to walk silently—we were just enjoying ourselves. A huge thank you to everyone for the support. So many of you left me heartwarming messages and constructive criticism, which truly made me happy. Anyway, the grind never stops, and sooner or later we'll take back what's ours.
1win advanced to the qualifier finals. In the match to secure a spot, they lost to 100 Thieves. Ultimately, nafany's team finished in 5th-8th place, earning $9,500 in prize money.
1win's next major tournament will be EPL S24. The event will be held in Katowice, Poland from October 3 to 11, with teams competing for a $1 million prize pool. Before returning to LAN events, nafany's team may participate in some online tournaments, but the specific ones have not yet been announced.
