The organizers of the Esports World Cup announced the groups for the $2 million main event shortly after the final four teams were determined through the Last Chance Qualifier.

The 32 participating teams were divided into four groups of eight teams each based on their rankings in the July edition of the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
Notably, two of the four teams that advanced through the Last Chance Qualifier — BIG and JiJieHao — were placed in Group A, as BIG was ranked higher on the VRS than several teams that received direct VRS invites last month.
The specific grouping is as follows:
Group A
Spirit、Aurora、G2、GamerLegion、Luminosity、M80、BIG、JiJieHao
Group B
Falcons、Legacy、BetBoom、Astralis、MIBR、FaZe、NiP、K27
Group C
Vitality、MOUZ、FUT、B8、PARIVISION、TYLOO、LVG、100 Thieves
Group D
NAVI、FURIA、9z、The MongolZ、magic、paiN、Wildcard、3DMAX
The group stage of this tournament will begin on Wednesday, August 12 and run through Sunday, August 16, using a double-elimination format, with opening-round matches as BO1 and all remaining matches as BO3.
The top four teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination knockout stage, which will take place from August 19 to 23, culminating in the grand final showdown at the Accor Arena.
