dziugss: FUT's playstyle isn't just about mindless rushing—coolio helped

Runners-up of the EWC, FUT rushed straight to the BLAST Open Porto. Before the tournament, dziugss was interviewed, discussing the origins of the team's aggressive playstyle, xfl0ud's integration, and what FUT still needs to win a championship. He stated that the style is a result of collaboration between Krabeni and coach coolio, "not just mindless rushing." For this event, his goal is to reach the playoffs. As for long-term objectives, dziugss believes FUT needs to expand their map pool, "If we can cover our weak maps, we absolutely have the potential to compete for the title."

Q: dziugss, first off, a simple one—how are you feeling right now? Coming straight here after wrapping up the EWC, you must be pretty tired.

dziugss: A bit tired, but everything's okay. Just lost the finals, but I'm still proud of the team.

Q: Did you have time to sit down and summarize the EWC? Or was the schedule too tight to even pause?

dziugss:We chatted right after the game ended, as we always do. So there was time.

Q: Have you summarized some elements you want to bring to this competition? Or is it more about adjusting as you go and moving forward?

dziugss: More about adjusting as they go, and keep moving forward.

Q: You made a major adjustment and introduced xfl0ud. Did you have any specific goals set at the time? Or were you just seeing how things would play out?

dziugss:We just want to see how far we can go with him. We’ve been training hard, trying to figure out how to integrate him into the team.

Q:You tend to operate more on the flanks while some teammates take space in the central area. Has your playing style changed, or is it just a matter of fitting xfl0ud into the system while everything else stays the same?

dziugss:I just changed a few positions and went back to the spot I played before xfl0ud joined. Aside from that, my playstyle hasn’t changed much—it’s basically the same as before.

Q: Your team has a very distinctive playstyle—you really like to go head-on and clash directly. Is this aggressive approach the idea of strategist Krabeni, the coach Coolio, or perhaps a result of both?

dziugss:I think it's a combination of both. When Krabeni first joined, he really liked calling some of the more aggressive playstyles and taking initiative. Then coach coolio saw that we had an advantage in this area, so we've been playing this way ever since.

Q: Krabeni's aggressive style is the foundation of your strategy, but has coolio helped you refine it further? It's not just about "just rush in," is it?

dziugss:Yes, it is the result of combined efforts from both sides. This aggressive style is our foundation, but it's not just mindless charging, not simply running and fighting.

Q: You're facing Legacy in the first round, and both teams performed well at EWC. Are you looking forward to this match? How will you prepare for it?

dziugss: They are a very strong team now. They changed their sniper, and the new sniper plays really well. The overall lineup is also very solid. I don't think it will be an easy match.

Q: What goals did you set for yourselves at this BLAST Porto tournament? Making the playoffs? Top four?

dziugss: Personally, the goal is to advance to the knockout stages, and anything beyond that would be a bonus.

Q:Final question—What changes does FUT need to make to become a true championship contender, win the final, and defeat Spirit?

dziugss: I think we need to expand our map pool. We currently have a few strong maps and a few weak maps, and this area needs improvement. If we can strengthen our map pool, we definitely have the ability to compete for the championship.
