NiP is looking for a new in-game leader on the market, and they will be replacing Snappi after a period of inconsistent performance, multiple sources have told HLTV and Dust2 Brasil.
HLTV has learned that the decision to introduce a new in-game leader was a mutual one, with Snappi previously indicating that he was willing to step down from the roster if the organization wished to move in a different direction. Sources add that the 36-year-old veteran is open to transitioning to a new role within the team.
According to Dust2 Brasil, MIBR has rejected an offer from NiP regarding LNZ, who has been playing for this Brazilian organization since January.
The source added that NiP is also weighing various options to permanently fill the vacancy left after cairne was benched in June. Since then, academy player n0te has been competing with the team in a stand-in capacity.
NiP is currently ranked 20th in the European VRS and has not received invitations to any major tournaments in the near future. They recently faced Legacy and Astralis at the Esports World Cup, suffering defeats, but secured a victory against BetBoom, ultimately finishing in 17th-24th place.
Previously, the team achieved 12th-14th place at XPL, secured 5th-8th at BLAST Premier Rising, earned third place in Stake Ranked Episode 3, ranked 9th-16th in the BLAST Bounty, and placed 3rd-4th in the closed qualifiers for StarSeries Fall.
Snappi has been on NiP's roster since January 2025, when the organization rebuilt around r1nkle, who was recently sold to G2.
During his time as captain, this veteran leader guided NiP to the finals of StarSeries Fall 2025, competed in Stage 2 of the Budapest Major, and secured a top 12 finish at IEM Cologne 2025.
NiP will return to the competition at Logitech G Play Connect, an event taking place in Warsaw from September 17th to 23rd with a prize pool of $100,000. The team has also signed up for ROG Journey Autumn in early October.
When contacted by HLTV, Ninjas in Pyjamas declined to comment.
