dako breaks CS2 tournament record with 40 kills in regional time

22-year-old Kazakh rifleman dako set a new CS2 regular-time kill record on Sunday, scoring 40 kills in 24 rounds against Total Domination at the BRO Cyber League Season 1 LAN event.

The previous record was set by poiii in September 2024, when he achieved 39 kills in an online match against Zero Tenacity, breaking donk's record of 38 kills from a LAN competition the previous week.

Before the second half of Mirage at the Game Point bronze medal match in Almaty, dako had a score of 23-6. He continued to contribute as his team turned a 6-6 half into a 12-10 lead. He had a chance to secure a map and series win (38-12) by winning a 1v2 clutch with a single kill, which would have tied poiii's record. However, he lost the duel, and his teammate failed to clean up the round.

In the next round, he secured two kills, setting a new record, but Game Point ultimately lost this map in overtime and faltered on the deciding map, losing this third-place match.

dako currently holds the record for the most kills in CS2 regular time, both overall and in LAN events. The top ten are as follows:

dako defeats Total Domination —— 40 kills (offline)

poiii versus Zero Tenacity — 39 kills (online)

donk vs. Wildcard — 38 kills (offline)

Tapewaare vs Metizport X — 38 kills (online)

youka vs ARCRED — 38 kills (LAN)

Lucaozy versus paiN —— 37 kills (online)

Lake vs BOSS — 37 kills (online)

cej0t vs M80 — 37 kills (offline)

poiii vs AM — 37 kills (LAN)

sacrifice vs. Take Flyte — 36 kills (online)
